New House

Shortly after selling our first home we found our new house. We considered several options before finally making our decision including building a brand new home, a 5 acre property with less house, a rental in case we didn't find what would work for us and this home (less property and more house). We knew what we wanted and that was living close enough to work, but with more property for our growing family. Jeremy is an outdoors guy and he wanted a yard big enough to enjoy, but also a place for him to build a shop for all his fine tools and toys!

Our new house sits on over an acre just west of Georgetown and outside the city limits of Liberty Hill, Texas. I was glad to hear from our neighbors that there are other young children for Finley to play with.

After only being in our new house for a week our house is finally starting to look like a home. However, there is still A LOT to be done. Painting, re-painting, pictures hung, boxes removed, organization, the nursery, the game room, and the list could go on. For now, this is what our new home looks like today. I know one day I will want to look back and remember what is was like when we first moved in.

Breakfast area

From the living looking into the dining room. Still need to hang the mirror behind the table, but I just finished this project of painting the old dresser and mirror with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. For now, the dresser is being used as a buffet to hold kitchen platters, table cloths, napkins, etc.

Looking back at the front door and entry way. I got this hall tree over the weekend and want to add some hooks to it so I can hang coats or Finley's school bag.

This is our bonus / game room / spare bedroom located above the garage.

Just outside the dining room looking down towards the girls rooms.

Kitchen - a little smaller than what I would have liked, but it will work for me.

Standing in the breakfast area looking into the living room.

Living

Master

Off the master we have this really awesome sitting room. We have our computer over there for now, but great place for the new baby.

Our back patio

One of the most exciting things, I think, is all the deer. Our front yard looks like this ALL.THE.TIME.

Farewell Old House

We had been talking for a while about putting out house on the market and finally back in February, we decided to do it. We had several showing, but no one seemed to be interested. We kept the house as tidy as we possibly could and it seemed that showings would happen at the most inconvenient times. Long.Story.Short - after 5 gruesome months on the night of July 1st, 2012 we received our first offer that was worth considering. We knew how badly we wanted to move and after a few negotiations we had our first contract. We had to be out of the house on Aug 15th (45 days), which seemed like the next weekend to ANY 5 month pregnant woman for that matter.

All that was going through my mind was how in the world are we going to find somewhere to move or build in just a few short 45 days! I was quickly put back in my place since we had to wait the 10 day grace period. I'm not going to bore myself or anyone with the details, but everything went well with the move and we are very happy in our new home.

This was our old house the day we moved out.

We closed on this home December 6, 2006. This house will always be so special to me. This was our very first home (we weren't even married yet). Shortly after moving in Jeremy brought home my first dog. Jeremy proposed to me in this house. After we married, we returned from our Honeymoon to this house. We brought home our first baby girl to this house. She took her very first steps inside this house. And most importantly, we made this house OUR HOME for the next 6 1/2 years.

This was and will be the very last family picture in front of our first home. Finley was 2, and I was 6 months pregnant with our second baby girl. Wednesday, August 15, 2012 was a very sad day for this momma, but we have so many better things to look forward to on our next journey.
