Farewell Old House

We had been talking for a while about putting out house on the market and finally back in February, we decided to do it. We had several showing, but no one seemed to be interested. We kept the house as tidy as we possibly could and it seemed that showings would happen at the most inconvenient times. Long.Story.Short - after 5 gruesome months on the night of July 1st, 2012 we received our first offer that was worth considering. We knew how badly we wanted to move and after a few negotiations we had our first contract. We had to be out of the house on Aug 15th (45 days), which seemed like the next weekend to ANY 5 month pregnant woman for that matter.

All that was going through my mind was how in the world are we going to find somewhere to move or build in just a few short 45 days! I was quickly put back in my place since we had to wait the 10 day grace period. I'm not going to bore myself or anyone with the details, but everything went well with the move and we are very happy in our new home.

This was our old house the day we moved out.

We closed on this home December 6, 2006. This house will always be so special to me. This was our very first home (we weren't even married yet). Shortly after moving in Jeremy brought home my first dog. Jeremy proposed to me in this house. After we married, we returned from our Honeymoon to this house. We brought home our first baby girl to this house. She took her very first steps inside this house. And most importantly, we made this house OUR HOME for the next 6 1/2 years.

This was and will be the very last family picture in front of our first home. Finley was 2, and I was 6 months pregnant with our second baby girl. Wednesday, August 15, 2012 was a very sad day for this momma, but we have so many better things to look forward to on our next journey.

Our Second Family

We had a family fun night at the fire station. The guys cooked for all the wives and kids, then let the kids play outside on the fire truck. I have to say, we ALL had such a good time. Three out of the four kids were two years old and they had the best time. After dinner, the guys took the kids on a ride in the truck and then hooked up the hose to the hydrant and let each of them shoot it.

Going for a ride with daddy and Miles - Finley has developed a new crush on Miles. I can only imagine what it would be like if they actually dated when they were older... ahhh!

Part of our second family lives in Waco, so we make the best of our time when we can spend it together. We look forward to our next fun night!

We are back!

I can’t believe it has taken me this long to get back to our blog, but my cup had runneth over. No need to explain details, all of you moms out there know exactly what I mean. While I was away, we endured several things like, Finley’s first birthday, Finley’s first plane ride to Orlando, Florida, Disney World, a family trip to Lake LBJ, celebrated my cousin Corbyn’s birthday and spent lots of time with mommy and daddy!

So to start it off, we celebrated our little girl’s FIRST birthday party! Finley had all 3 sets of her grandparents, aunt and uncle, cousins and best friends help her celebrate. It turned out to be a great day outside, so we did it up right with burgers, brats and cake!

The Smash cake I made.

The Birthday Girl herself. Waiting on my friends to arrive!

 A little hesitant, but overall...

had no problem eating that cake!!

Thanks to all our family and friends who helped us celebrate!

Pumpkin Patch

Over the weekend Jeremy, myself and my parents took Finley to the Pumpkin Patch. We did the best we could since she can't sit up alone. We think she had a good time or maybe I had a great time.. I had never been to a pumpkin patch before, however, my vision was a little different. Maybe if we lived in East Texas would there have actually been a FIELD FULL of pumpkins. :)

State Fair of Texas 2010

Over the weekend, our family did our annual family tradition and went to the State Fair. This big thing this year was deep-fried Frito Pie. I have to admit, it was tasty! We had the regular Flether's corny dogs, Texas tators, and funnel cakes.

All of us, minus my mom who is taking the picture.

First of MANY firsts

With your first born child you will have many firsts. This particular first was extremely hard on mommy and daddy. Our sitter was going to be out on vacation for a couple days and I mentioned it to my mom, who JUMPED at the opportunity to watch her. I tossed the idea around with the hubbie and WITH much hesitation agreed to let mom watch Finley. This is how Finley got four days with Nana and Pawpaw without me and daddy!

Jeremy and I had a wedding to attend in Waco so my parents met us and took Finley back to their house. By Sunday morning I was ready to go get her! However, I did suck it up and let my parents keep her. By the time Finley came home, I had had mixed emotions about her being gone. Granted it was nice to get a good night sleep, a little bit of me time and of course, couple time! At the same time, for the last four and a half months Finley has been around and we both felt lost without her. This is one of many reasons why I feel so blessed to have such wonderful family that will help us out when we need it!

Here are some pictures from her FIRST TRIP TO NANA and PAWPAW'S alone!

I think she had a pretty good time! I might let her go back. (maybe in another 4 months!)
