2013 Special Olympics Fire Truck Pull

This past weekend we went to the Dell Diamond for the Annual 2013 Special Olympics Fire Truck Pull. The girls were such troopers while we sat out in the Texas heat and watched our favorite person and his crew pull a 77,000 pound fire truck.

Here is the video of the second pull. I forget how far they had to pull, but there were 12 guys and they pulled that FT in 17 seconds. It was so cute to see on the little's yell and scream for their daddy's! 

They won - below is their scorecard to prove it!

And then we had to ride the Kiddie Express

Finley was so proud of her daddy - I think she just wanted his metal! Anyway, it was a good time had by all.

Great job to ALL that participated and can't wait to go back next year!

The playscape update

Even though it wasn't complete in this picture. I thought I should share the excitement in her voice as she slides down her slide for the very first time! 

This makes my heart melt! The sound of kids laughter! 

Fun filled weekend

Two weekends ago, I took the girls on a 3 hour car ride to visit one of Finley's first childhood friends for the weekend. Jeremy was working both weekend days so I used both fire stations as potty breaks to and from. Saying the girls were excited to see one another was an understatement. 

They fished together like two peas in a pod!

Landry was happy to be outside in the fresh August air, which happened to have a nice breeze!

And then the most EXCITING thing happened!

Yup! It has gotten much better since that day. She says 'momma' ALL.THE.TIME. - And I couldn't be happier. 

The big girls caught fish and played outside some more. 

And even momma did some fishing with Finley's pink fishing pole. 

We spent some time at the playground before dinner.

I tell you... these girls love each other so much! It makes me teary-eyed knowing we are 3 hours from them. Avery's mom and I have made a deal that we promise to visit as often as we can.

- Wear size 3 diapers
- Wearing 9 - 12 months
- Most days you are eating cereal in the morning, fruit for lunch and veggie for dinner
- You HATE peaches - You make the funniest face
- Love fresh apples cut up & bananas
- Taking last bottle right before bedtime 5 oz.
- Bedtime has been a little earlier - maybe 7:30 - 7:45 pm (One night even 6:30 pm)
- Last month I lowered your crib, well I had to lower it again after you fell out of the bath tub. (Yep, mother of the year) It made me too nervous that you would try and throw your leg over the crib too
- You are crawling so fast now I can't keep up. Within seconds you are out of my site
- And you have given pulling up on the furniture a new meaning. Not only are you pulling up, but trying to climb up onto the furniture!
- You have even let go a couple times - EEEK
- Still don't have any teeth
- BIG MILESTONE!! You said Momma!
- Every time I pick you up from the sitter you sqeal with delight upon my arrival
- Absolutely LOVE your sister! You get the biggest smile on your face when she greets you in the mornings

You are such a happy baby and a blessing to your daddy and I. Time sure does fly with the second one for sure. We cannot believe you are already 9 months. Before long, I will be planning your 1st Birthday Party!
